Jesus Justifies the Ungodly
The bible teaches us, Jesus justifies the ungodly. Christ died for the ungodly and for sinners. He came to seek and to save that which was lost. The righteous need not a physician, but they who are sick. If we could have been righteous within ourselves, the physician would not have came. We could never live good enough to be accepted of God by our own works of righteousness. Therefore, Jesus came and paid our sin debt for us to justify the ungodly.
The bible tells us, he that works not, but believes upon him that justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Many professing Christians are striving for salvation the wrong way. Many believe we must have good works of the flesh to be justified in the sight of God. However, the bible tells us they who work not will be counted righteous through faith. Faith alone in Jesus saves us. There is no amount of good works we could ever do to earn or keep salvation. Salvation is the gift of God. He doesn't require us to do anything, but believe the gospel. We don't really do that. The bible tells us Jesus is the author of our faith. Jesus writes us some faith so to speak. Therefore, we really do nothing to earn salvation, not even believe. Jesus does it all. He even gives us faith to believe the gospel for salvation. He requires faith and then gives us faith. Salvation is of God alone. He alone justifies the ungodly.
Many, however, believe we must live holy in our flesh by our own good works to be or remain accepted of God. The truth is, God alone makes us acceptable to him. God alone can justify the ungodly. The ungodly could never justify themselves. No works is required for salvation. We must believe upon him that justifies the ungodly for salvation. This is all that is required. If we believe the gospel, God has chosen us to salvation. If God is for us, who can be against us. If God wants to save us, who can stop him? Can we hinder salvation by our own ungodly works? God forbid. If we could sway salvation, salvation would be dependent upon us. However, salvation is a gift of God. We can do nothing to earn it. We can do nothing to keep it. We can do nothing to throw it away. Who is he that condemns us? It is God that justifies us. If God justifies us, we have nothing to do with our own justification. We are not required to follow man made rules as preached in many churches. God has set us free from the law of sin and death. We do not have to try to keep the law in our flesh. We do not have to do anything to be accepted of God other than believe in Jesus.
Why do so many people believe otherwise? They interpret the word of God naturally. The bible tells us the natural mind is not subject to the law of God. The law of God is spiritual with hidden intended meanings. We cannot follow the law by what we read or understand naturally. The bible tells us we fulfill the law by walking after the spirit. We must worship God in spirit, not by our own works of the flesh. God writes his law in our hearts when we are saved. When we are saved we are already justified. The world needs to stop trying to earn salvation. It can't be earned. Only God can justify the ungodly. We cannot justify ourselves.
Why do so many people try to command people to live by rules in the flesh for salvation? Why do people believe we must do more than have faith alone in Jesus for salvation? Why do people add to the gospel of Jesus Christ? Many love religion. Many are full of hatred and judgmental attitudes. Many desire the praise of man rather than God.
