How to Taste and See That the Lord is Good

Here's my thought about... You can truly taste something only when you eat it. I can show you an apple and describe that it is beautiful, ripe, sweet, and soft. You can mentally form an image. However, you will never experience the taste until you eat it. The same way you can only taste God when you go through very trying circumstances and sufferings. Christian websites cannot help you in those situations. Circumstances create opportunity When you go through difficult financial, relational, or physical circumstances, sometimes it is impossible to solve them. This is an opportunity for you to taste God in action. When your self-efforts or even other human sources let you down, you have a choice to look up to God. You can read the Bible. Do Research on books and media. Go to Christian websites. However, they cannot help you. You will go through situations where you need to experience the goodness of God in intervening for you. Otherwise you would have no idea how good it. Human ...

A Man Born Blind was Healed

Here's my thought about... 1 As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. 2 His disciples asked him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" 3 "Neither this man nor his parents sinned," said Jesus, "but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life. 4 As long as it is day, we must do the work of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. 5 While I am in the world, I am the light of the world." 6 Having said this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man's eyes. 7 "Go," he told him, "wash in the Pool of Siloam" (this word means Sent). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing. 8 His neighbors and those who had formerly seen him begging asked, "Isn't this the same man who used to sit and beg?" 9 Some claimed that he was. Others said, "No, he only looks like him." But he himself insist...

Unbelieveable!! Part 1

Here's my thought about... John's account on walks on the Wate r. "When evening came, his disciples went down to the lake, where they got into a boat and set off across the lake for Capernaum. By now it was dark, and Jesus had not yet joined them. A strong wind was blowing and the waters grew rough. When they had rowed three or three and a half miles, they saw Jesus approaching the boat, walking on the water; and they were terrified. But he said to them, "It is I; don't be afraid." Then they were willing to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the shore where they were heading. The next day the crowd that had stayed on the opposite shore of the lake realized that only one boat had been there, and that Jesus had not entered it with his disciples, but that they had gone away alone. Then some boats from Tiberias landed near the place where the people had eaten the bread after the Lord had given thanks. Once the crowd realized that neither...

Saved by Angels by Bruce Van Natta - Book Review

Here's my thought about... An Inspiring Testimony of a Near Death Experience In the book "Saved by Angels" Bruce Van Natta boldly shares a testimony of how Angels saved his life while pinned under the front axle of a huge logging truck. This is Bruce's story of how he responded to God's call on his life to share the many ways God talks to "everyday people" today. Bruce draws on scriptures and testimonies of Christians to show how God may use guardian angels, dreams and visions to bring His message to the believer. He also uses the inner whisper of the Holy Spirit, the Bible and other written words, circumstances, answered prayer, or His spoken Word through pastors, church leaders or others to reveal His plan for the individual believer. Bruce's uses his own experience and the stories of fellow Christians to show how God uses answers prayers today to increase our faith, to help us grow as Christians or to meet our physical needs. These stories incl...

The Good Shepherd

Here's my thought about... In the land of Palestine there were many shepherds. It was the work of a shepherd to care for the sheep, to protect them from wild animals and to lead them to the places where they could find water to drink and grass to eat. The shepherd often stayed out in the open with them at night and slept under the stars. A good shepherd knew his sheep by name, loved them and ran any risk to protect and care for them. One time the Lord Jesus talked about sheep and shepherds to help the people understand about heavenly things. He said, "I am the Good Shepherd; the Good Shepherd gives His life for the sheep," John 10:11. He meant that the work He had come to do was like that of a shepherd who protected the sheep even if it cost him his life. The sheep for whom the Lord Jesus gave His life were people. It was for the sins of the whole world that Jesus gave up His life on the cross. Thinking of Him as our Good Shepherd helps us to see His great love for eve...

Jesus Raises Lazarus From the Dead Part 1

Here's my thought about... Even though the Lord Jesus had no home but spent His time traveling up and down the land of Palestine, He had many kind friends who loved Him and who loved to have Him share their home. In the little town of Bethany about two miles from Jerusalem there was a home where Jesus was loved and welcomed. Three people lived there - a man named Lazarus and his two sisters, Mary and Martha. Jesus often visited there. The two sisters loved to prepare meals for Him, and they all loved to talk with Him and hear Him teach. Jesus loved them and loved to be in their home. One time Lazarus was taken sick. The doctors could not seem to help him, and he only got worse. Mary and Martha talked together and said, "If only Jesus were here I'm sure He could heal him." They learned where Jesus was and sent a messenger to Him, saying, "Lord, he who You love is sick." Perhaps they did not ask Him to come to them, but they surely thought He would come to ...

Allow God to Heal Your Past

Here's my thought about... It does not matter what you have gone through in the past, God is asking you to allow Him to heal you. The word "past" means completed, ended and time has already elapsed. Yes, you may still be hurting from the happenings of the past, but the Lord wants you to give them to Him. He is the only one who can really touch and heal you in a miraculous way. Yes, God understands what you have gone through, because He was in there with you all along; but you may not have known it. His Word says in Isaiah 43:2, "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze". Wow, what a divine and awesome protection for you! All the time you were going through some serious stuff in the past, God did not let you drown in it and He did not let you get destroyed. What a kind and compassionate God ...

Jesus Tests The Disciples

Here's my thought about... The Lord Jesus, the greatest Teacher who ever lived, gave His disciples a test to see if they had truly learned to trust Him. This was after they had been with Him for some time, had heard Him teach, and watched Him perform miracles. One evening after a vey busy day they got into a boat to cross the lake. Jesus had been very busy all day long teaching and helping the great crowds of people, and He was tired. He went to the back of the boat where He could lie down with His head on a pillow. The lake was calm and peaceful as they left the shore. The lake breezes and the smooth motion of the boat gently rocked the tired body of the dear Son of God as He slept. Before long the winds blew harder, the clouds grew blacker, the waves became higher, and soon their little boat was tossing around in the grip of a severe storm. Some of the disciples had grown up on this lake, and they were good sailors; but soon they became frightened, for they could not manage th...

Jesus Walks About the Earth Doing "Good"

Here's my thought about... After the great sermon on the mountain, Jesus comes down and great multitudes of people followed him. A leper appeared and began to worship Jesus. The Leper asked Jesus to make him clean. Jesus put forth his hand and touched him saying the words "I will, be clean." Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. Have you ever been praying, and the Holy Ghost takes your tongue to speak you in other tongues, and then says to you, "I will." If this happens to you, you can bank on it, that whatever you were talking to Jesus about will be done. Jesus told the man to go show himself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded for a testimony to them. Each time Jesus heals it is a witness or testimony of his power and ability to heal the sick and the afflicted so others who see the miracle will believe upon him and seek out their own salvation. When Jesus went to Ca-per'na-um, a centurion begged him to heal his servant who lay sick of...

It Must Be Wonderful Not Just to Heal Someone But to Make Them Whole! Who Could Do That?

Here's my thought about... In this scenario, Jesus Christ not only heals but makes one grateful man whole. Is there a secret here? If there is I want to discover it! Jesus has been speaking to disciples and believers about the possibility of stumbling and sinning and the importance of Repentance, Forgiveness and Faith. It is all there in the opening sentences of Luke Chapter 17. Immediately following on from these words, Jesus walks on with His disciples and He is about to enter a village when ten lepers appear. These men were riddled with this horrible disease. It would appear that nine were Jews and one was a Samaritan, but for each one of them there was only one hope left - JESUS. They would be sorry sights, and they came as near as they might dare. Lepers had to keep away from people at least 100 paces. They cried out, "Jesus Master have mercy on us. Have pity on us." How could Jesus do anything else? Was this not why He had come into the world? Jesus would see the...

Jesus Heals a Withered Hand

Here's my thought about... Sometimes people don't recognize a miracle even when they see one. Take a look at this story where Jesus heals the withered hand... Luke 6: 1-10 And it came to pass on the second sabbath after the first, that he went through the corn fields; and his disciples plucked the ears of corn, and did eat, rubbing them in their hands. And certain of the Pharisees said unto them, Why do ye that which is not lawful to do on the sabbath days. And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read so much as this, what David did, when himself was an hungred, and they which were with him. How he went into the house of God, and did take and eat the shewbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat but for the priests alone. And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath. And it came to pass also on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man whose right hand was withered. An...

Dramatized Story of "My Name is Legion," He Replied, Mark 5:1-20

Here's my thought about... It's early in the morning. The voices won't stop and you have been cutting yourself and smearing blood over the walls of the cave you are in. Your mind is going at a thousand miles an hour and terrible voices are telling you to go and jump off the cliff. The blood is flowing now and you suck some of it off your wrist and scratch at it and lick some more off and the voices won't stop and you can't stand still. You're hungry, thirsty, insane with these voices, hurting from the blood flow in your wrist and your head is bursting with all of the confusion and you are wondering how you are going to survive another day in torment. A wave of peace sort of knocks you over and the chatter of angry voices seems to lull for a second and suddenly you are running out into the sunlight searching for the source of this massive rush of power that had temporarily short circuited the angry voices and made a second or two of peace. You squint at the su...

Eight Reasons Why Only Jesus Saves

Here's my thought about... 1. There is no other name under heaven, given among mortals by whom we must be saved (Acts 4:12). This is not politically correct, but it is biblical truth straight from God. All the other prophets are dead. Only Jesus lives and is seated at the right hand of God. 2. There are other books claiming to be from God, but they are full of mistakes and contradictions. The Bible has been proven to be accurate in every way. Though not primarily meant to be for scientific fact, when it is given it is accurate. It spoke of the circle of the earth (Isaiah 40:22), when men thought the world was flat. The paths of the sea (Psalms 8:8), were discovered after a ship captain read about them in the Bible. 3. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except by me" (John 14:6). There is no other way to God except through his son. The religious world believes that there are many ways to heaven, but that is not what the Bible s...

The Day Jesus Asked For My Prayer Request

Here's my thought about... One morning I was dreaming when Jesus asked me in my sleep for me to contact Jonathon Edwards, the American medium. I asked Jesus in my sleep, how to do that and Jesus told me just to say his name. I said his name and he came online and the Lord then directed me to tell him to turn from his life of sin and to stop acting as a medium. After I delivered this message I awoke and I was wide awake, a state that normally takes a few hours of a few strong coffees. I asked Jesus, "Did that really happen?" "Yes it did Matthew," The Lord replied. "Now I want you to ask me for something, Jesus said. "You never ask me for anything and now I want you to ask for something." I felt like Solomon being asked for a prayer request that the Lord was going to answer. I had a careful thought for a while. I thought of the prophecy in Joel where it said sons and daughters will prophesy and men will see dreams and visions and I asked the Lord...

Jesus Justifies the Ungodly

Here's my thought about... The bible teaches us, Jesus justifies the ungodly. Christ died for the ungodly and for sinners. He came to seek and to save that which was lost. The righteous need not a physician, but they who are sick. If we could have been righteous within ourselves, the physician would not have came. We could never live good enough to be accepted of God by our own works of righteousness. Therefore, Jesus came and paid our sin debt for us to justify the ungodly. The bible tells us, he that works not, but believes upon him that justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Many professing Christians are striving for salvation the wrong way. Many believe we must have good works of the flesh to be justified in the sight of God. However, the bible tells us they who work not will be counted righteous through faith. Faith alone in Jesus saves us. There is no amount of good works we could ever do to earn or keep salvation. Salvation is the gift of God. He ...

The Miracles of Jesus

Here's my thought about... No one denies that Jesus had a human nature, and much of what he did, perhaps most of what he did, was through the exercise of his merely human abilities. Intellectually, he was gifted enough for his words to inspire wonder, even among his enemies. Some of what he did, though, makes sense only in reference to his divine nature. Miracles are recorded in all four gospels. Interwoven with all that Jesus did and said, it is impossible to delete them without rendering what is left of the gospels all but incoherent. Nonetheless, people are always trying to explain them away because of the conceptual difficulties they raise. Demons and Exorcism Six of the thirty-three recorded miracles between Cana and Calvary were exorcisms -- miracles that seem to create more problems for the modern mind than the raising of Lazarus. If Jesus came across six cases of demonic possession in a three-year period, there is every reason to believe that demonic possession is a mode...

Listen and I Will Tell You the Biggest Miracle About Jesus

Here's my thought about... Was the biggest miracle that Jesus ever performed the one where he fed 5000 people with just a couple of loaves of bread and a few fish? Was it when he raised Lazarus from the dead? Pay attention, because I'm about to share with you, the biggest miracle about Jesus and this time it's actually the truth. Most Christians are going to be shocked, once they find out that the biggest miracle about Jesus isn't actually a miracle, but scientific evidence that seems to confuse your average Christian. Be prepared, because the information that you are about to read, has driven thousands of people away from Christianity. The true miracles about Jesus, is the fact that we don't have any satisfactory evidence to support most of the claims in the Bible. If you read the four Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, you will find that their stories are similar, but different. Why would the Bible, which is the written word of God, give us four different i...

Jesus' Most Trivial Miracle

Here's my thought about... After this, Jesus went away to the other side of the Sea of Galilee (or Tiberias). A large crowd kept following him because they had seen the signs that he was performing on the sick. But Jesus went up on a hillside and sat down there with his disciples. Now the Passover, the festival of the Jews, was near. When Jesus looked up and saw that a large crowd was coming toward him, he said to Philip, "Where can we buy bread for these people to eat?" Jesus said this to test him, for he himself knew what he was going to do. Philip answered him, "Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not enough for each of them to get a little." One of his disciples, Andrew, who was Simon Peter's brother, said to him, "There's a little boy here who has five barley loaves and two small fish. But what are they among so many people?" Jesus said, "Have the people sit down." Now there was plenty of grass in that place. So the men sat ...

Believing in a Miracle

Here's my thought about... This is simply inviting the supernatural power of God to manifest in your situation. Through out the Bible, we have seen God performing miracles that no science can explain. His people prayed or cried to him for help and he heard. The result was miracles that dumbfounded them. If we look at the Israelite when they were in the wilderness, they cried to God or rather murmured for they had no food. God heard them and replied by dropping manna from heaven. The same was enough for everyone and they could only collect enough for what they needed that day. Every morning God repeated this miracle. When they got bored with the manna, they murmured again and God made birds drop from heaven for them to eat as they wanted to have meat this time. During that time and age, miracles were the norm. In fact God used his supernatural power to get the children of Israel from Egypt. The problem is due to our changing lifestyles, we have forgotten the true power of God and...

On Miracles: Ben's Amazing God Story

Here's my thought about... Young Ben Tarner loves testimonies. He often asked his mom, Carol, "Mom, would you please tell us another amazing God story?" Then one day, Ben experienced an "amazing God story" of his own to tell. One day Carol and the kids were driving out of Buraimi, a tiny territory in the Arab country of Oman where the Turners were missionaries. It is a desert region where there can be virtually no rainfall for years. Ben asked, "Mom, are we going to live here forever?" Carol said that it depended on God's will and asked Ben if he wanted to live in Buraimi forever. Ben said,"no," he wanted to live in America because it snows in America, but it never snows here. Trying to sound encouraging, Carol agreed that it never snows here, but reminded him that it does rain in winter sometimes. "But we had winter and it didn't rain. If it would just rain . . . " lamented Ben. "What would you do if it did rain?...

Miracles: What The Bible Has To Say About Them

Here's my thought about... It was a miracle! How many times have you heard someone say that? Probably hundreds of times. But they don't really mean that it was a miracle - what they really mean is that the event they witnessed was amazing, improbable, or inexplicable. But are there real miracles? Have there been times that the natural laws of the universe, such as gravity, or even death, have been stopped, changed, or reversed? To find the answer to this question, we must turn to the Bible. Fact #1: Jesus performed many miracles In the four gospels, we find many instances were Jesus performed miracles, such as "Then they brought him a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute, and Jesus healed him, so that he could both talk and see." (Matthew 12:22) Perhaps one of the most famous of Jesus' miracles was the raising of Lazarus from the dead, which we read about in John 11: "Jesus found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb for four days...Jesus called ...

Do Miracles Really Happen? Read This Miraculous Story

Here's my thought about... A lot of people believe that miracles really happen. Of course, these things don't just happen to everybody. Sometimes, it's just the story of a friend of a friend. Other times, it's a story from a total stranger. Personally, I believe in the existence of miracles. There are a great many stories out there that tell of such impossible feats and experiences. Sometimes, these miracles appear in the form of one's faith in God. Sometimes, these miracles appear in the form of one's strong will. But do miracles really happen? Miraculous True Story Of A Mother and Her Children Stories of miracles performed by God are not uncommon. However, one never gets tired of reading or hearing about His miracles. This particular story is that of a mother and her twins. One is a boy and the other is a girl. When the mother gave birth to these two special children, everything seemed to be okay. However, as months passed, she noticed that while her male c...
